VVV (Virtual Volumes View) 1.5, released by developer fsenore, is a lightweight cataloging utility whose single purpose is to create searchable indexes of removable media such as CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, USB sticks and external drives. Once a disk is scanned, the program stores file and folder names, sizes, dates and volume labels in a compact SQLite database; the physical medium can then be removed, yet every item remains instantly discoverable through keyword, wildcard or regular-expression queries. Users browsing the offline catalog can open, copy or launch files exactly as if the original disk were inserted, while the built-in virtual file system lets collections from many disks be merged into one logical hierarchy—ideal for musicians, photographers, developers or archivists who need to track thousands of scattered discs without repetitive insertion. Because the database is portable, catalogs can be shared across PCs or carried on a thumb-drive, and incremental updates add new volumes without rescanning old ones. The application occupies only a few megabytes, runs on any Windows edition from XP onward, and requires no background services or administrator rights. VVV 1.5 is the first and currently only public release, offering stable, feature-complete operation in the disk-cataloging category. The software is available for free on get.nero.com, with downloads provided via trusted Windows package sources (e.g. winget), always delivering the latest version, and supporting batch installation of multiple applications.
